Face-lift for Marshall Peugeot Showroom, Cambridge
This busy showroom in the south side of Cambridge city centre required a new showroom to meet the expectations of a modern car franchise. The existing workshop also needed alterations to improve productivity and the site as a whole needed highway works to improve access to the entrance.
Waldeck Associates delivered civil and structural design services including liaising with Cambridgeshire County Council Highways to formulate a Section 50 Agreement. As an integral part of our duties we also managed the geo-environmental engineering studies.

Bridge Street Mural is on the move
Peterborough City Council sought expert structural advice from Waldeck Associates on the proposed removal of the iconic mural facade to their Bridge House offices. The council’s offices at Bridge House were originally constructed by Mitchell Engineering Ltd in 1955 but are to be demolished to accommodate the proposed South Bank re-development.
The mural is constructed from panels of carved Portland Whitbed Stone and depicts contributions to science and engineering, the overall size of the mural is 20m wide by 8m high. It is the intention of the council to re-erect the mural in a prominent location within the city.
Showcase pavilion for Sleaford Town Football Club
Sleaford Town, Waldeck’s local football Club, began an ambitious project to build a new pavilion, six football pitches, coach and car parking and a bowling green in 2006. Waldeck Associates were invited to help the club put the professional team of consultants and contractors together to complete this important local project.
Waldeck Associates took the lead consultant role, providing Section 278 offsite highway works to improve car parking and access roads, as well as consulting on suitable sustainable drainage solutions and substructures design. Unlike Wembley, the project was delivered on time and to budget, as one local commentator pointed out. The F.A. spokesman, Mark Liddiard said it was “one of the best facilities of its kind in the East of England” and went on to say that he would use it as a showcase project for other clubs.
